Eligibility:Any student wanting to report threats of violence and weapon violations on school grounds.
Services Provided:The Illinois State Police administers the School Violence Tip-Line which provides a means for students to report threats of violence and weapons violations on school grounds. Calls will be answered by state police employees who will forward the information to the local sheriff or police department in the appropriate district. The tip-line is an option in cases when the caller fears reprisal and is unwilling to tell an administrator, teacher or counselor or if the caller is considering acts of violence and is unwilling to sacrifice anonymity.
Comments:The School Violence Tip-Line should not be used for emergency situations. In an emergency situation, call your local police/fire agency at 911.
