Eligibility:Any child 18 years or younger who has experienced abuse. Also, any adult with developmental delays who has been abused.
Area Served:McDonough and Hancock Counties
Services Provided:The center provides a team approach to the investigation of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse. They work closely with the State's Attorneys in the counties served, Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) and area law enforcements. Their mission is to provide a coordinated investigative approach in a child-friendly environment, which will assist with the successful prosecution of the offender, ultimately lessening the rate of child abuse in the community.
Comments:The Children's Advocacy Center is a safe, non-threatening location where alleged victims can be interviewed by one person in a child-friendly setting.
