Office Hours:Iowa City - 8:00a.m.-4:30p.m., Monday through Friday Knoxville - 7:45a.m.-4:30p.m., Monday through Friday. Open 24 hours per day, 7 days a week for emergencies.
Eligibility:Iowa City - Individuals who have served in the Armed Forces and received other than a dishonorable discharge are eligible for care. Knoxville - Must have honorable discharge from active military service. (If military service is after September 7, 1980, then service must have been for 24 continuous months.)
Area Served:McDonough and other counties in western Illinois eastern Iowa.
Services Provided:Iowa City - A 327 bed general medical, surgical adn psychiatric hospital providing medical care and allied services to inpatients and outpatients. Affiliated with the University of Iowa College of Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, and Department of Psychology. Special medical programs include kidney transplant, ambulatory surgery, hospital based home care, surgical-medical-coronary intensive care units, CT scanning, geriatric evaluation unit, cardiac catheterization, contract nursing home, and the only histocompatibility typing lab in the state of Iowa. Specialized exams and counseling conducted for exposure of Agent Orange, Ionizing Radiation, former prisoners of war, and post traumatic stress disorder. Mental health services and patient and family support groups are also provided. Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program in McDonough County.

Knoxville - Inpatient hospitalization, outpatient care, and nursing home care to eligible veterans of both sexes. Inpatient services are primarily psychiatric. Other services include: Alzheimer's unit, geriatric evaluation and placement unit, general medicine, palliative care, rehabilitation program, respite care, nursing home care, alcohol rehabilitation, and domiciliary care.
