Eligibility:Early Head Start serves children ages six weeks through two years.For regular Head Start children must be at least 3 years of age by September 1, but not yet attending kindergarten. At least 10% of enrollments slots are reserved for children with special needs, agency-wide, regardless of income. Families must meet income guidelines. Head Start services are provided free of charge.

Services Provided:PACT provides Head Start, Early Head Start and day care services. Head Start and Early Head Start services are free of charge.

In McDonough County center Based services are provided in Macomb. Children attend classes 4-5 mornings or afternoons per week. In Macomb a full day year round Head Start program is available for working families. The full day program operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm. A wrap around Head Start child care program is available before and after the full day Head Start class through Department of Human Services Subsidized Child Care. Family services are provided by Family Advocates through home visits and other contacts with families.

Home Based services are available throughout McDonough County. Home visits are provided one time per week, with children attending socialization twice monthly. In both program options Head Start provides comprehensive services to families in Health, Social Services, Education, Parent engagement and Involvement.

Transportation is available at limited times for eligible families.

Child Care: In Macomb, full day, full year child care is available for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Child care can be provided in conjunction with Head Start (see above). The center, operated in collaboration with Western Illinois University, is located at 320 University Drive, Macomb. Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Department of Human Services Child Care Assistance Program State subsidized child care is available. To enroll or to determine weekly fees, call 298-3143 in Macomb.
