|Services Provided:||Human Rights Authority - the HRA conducts fact-finding investigation of complaints of rights of violations in public and private facilities that provide services to the disabled. The complaints may be made by anyone. (A sliding scale fee applies.)
Office of State Guardian - this office serves a guardian of last resort for individuals, 18 or older, who have been adjudicated incompetent in Probate Court. The guardianship can be for the person and/or estate with no fee assessment for guardianship services unless the estate value is $15,000.00 or more.
Legal Advocacy Services - an attorney and paralegal advocate represent mentally disabled children and adults in relation to disability-related legal problems in courts, administrative hearings and pursuing settlements of the dispute. No fee for families whose income is less that 150% of the federal poverty level; sliding fee schedule for all others.
